About Echeveria 'Gilo Drops'

Echeveria 'Gilo Drops' belongs to the family Crassulaceae. This variety typically features green leaves with red or purple edges and a farina coating. The rounded leaves have tubercles resembling raindrops falling on the leaf surface. The leaves are densely arranged, forming a rosette-shaped succulent. Echeveria 'Gilo Drops' is very similar, but is darker than echeveria sp. gilo.

How to care for Echeveria 'Gilo Drops'

Sun/Temperature: Echeveria 'Gilo Drops' prefers ample sunlight. It's best placed in bright sunlight near a window or balcony. During summer, could you protect it from intense direct sunlight? This succulent thrives in warm climates, with optimal growth temperatures ranging from 60°F to 85°F. However, extreme high or low temperatures should be avoided.

Soil/Pot: Choose well-draining succulent soil or mix perlite, pumice, peat, and sand. Make sure the pot has enough drainage holes to avoid waterlogging.

Watering: Generally, wait until the soil is arid before watering again. Increase watering frequency during hot summer and growth periods while reducing it during winter.

Diseases and Pests: Common issues may include root rot due to overwatering and fungal infections on the leaves. To prevent these problems, ensure proper watering and avoid water accumulation in leaf gaps. If pest or disease issues occur, treatments like sulfur powder or an alcohol solution can be used.

Propagation: Echeveria 'Gilo Drops' can be propagated through leaf propagation . Leaf propagation involves cutting leaves from mature plants, allowing the wounds to dry, placing them on the surface of dry soil, and waiting for new roots and plants to develop.

Fertilizing: Apply diluted succulent fertilizer monthly during the growing season (spring to early summer). Reduce or stop fertilizing during the dormant period (fall to winter).

Winter shipping

We insist on shipping succulents to our customers all year round. However due to the extreme winter weather, although we pack succulents with as much protective material as possible, plants are still at increased risk of frost on their way to colder areas. We highly recommend adding one 72-hour heat pack to your order or you can request a hold on the package until it warms up.

Please note that The Next Gardener is not responsible for packages that suffer cold damage without a heat pack. We cannot control the weather. Order at your own risk.

Hawaii, Alaska, and Other US Territories

Fortunately, shipping is available to Alaska, Guam, and other U.S. Territories. However, due to numerous factors beyond our control, including customs checks and shipping delays, free shipping to Hawaii and Puerto Rico is not an option. And we can not provide the 14-day quality guarantee for orders going to Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The buyer will assume all risk of damage when a delivery is delayed. We appreciate your understanding.
