How to care for Echeveria Crystal Amber

Sun: To ensure optimal growth for your Echeveria Crystal Amber, it is vital to place it in a well-lit area that receives abundant, indirect sunlight for at least 4-6 hours each day. It is best to position the plant near a window facing south or west. If your location experiences intense sunlight, it is essential to provide some shade during the hottest periods to protect the leaves from sunburn.

Soil: To ensure the well-being of your Echeveria Crystal Amber, it is crucial to utilize soil that has excellent drainage. You have the option of acquiring a pre-made succulent or cactus soil mix, or you can create your own soil mix by combining regular potting soil with perlite or pumice. This will effectively prevent water accumulation around the roots, thereby avoiding potential harm. Watering: Echeveria Crystal Amber, being a succulent plant, possesses excellent resilience to drought. It is essential to water the plant solely when the soil is entirely dry. Excessive watering can result in root rot. Ensure thorough saturation of the soil during watering and permit any surplus water to drain away from the base of the pot. Discarding any remaining water in the saucer will prevent the roots from being submerged in standing water. In winter, water sparingly when the soil is completely dry. Consider bottom watering and avoid overhead watering to prevent moisture-related issues like root rot and fungal diseases.

Temperature: Echeveria Crystal Amber thrives in temperatures between 60°F and 75°F. Protect the plant from extreme temperature fluctuations, particularly frost during winter, which can damage the leaves. In spring and summer, maintain average room temperatures, providing shade if it gets too hot. During fall, slightly cooler conditions are preferred. In winter, keep temperatures above 50°F (10°C) and shield the plant from cold drafts. Monitor the temperature and adjust accordingly to ensure the plant's well-being throughout the year.

Propagation: To propagate Echeveria Crystal Amber through stem cuttings, follow these steps:

1. Select a healthy stem and make a clean cut below a leaf node.
2. Let the cutting dry and form a callus for a few days.
3. Prepare well-draining soil and bury the cut end of the stem.
4. Mist the soil lightly and place the cutting in bright, indirect sunlight.
5. Maintain moisture by occasionally misting the cutting.
6. Over time, roots will develop from the buried node, and new growth will appear.
7. Once the new plantlet has established roots and is thriving, transplant it into its own container.

In general, it takes 3 to 10 days for plants to arrive after you place your order. All orders will be shipped out 48 hours after you place them. We ship the orders on work days(from Monday to Saturday) and all year round. In normal conditions, it will take 3-10 days for you to receive the package. Estimated shipping times are offered as needed.

HOLIDAYS: During weeks in which a holiday occurs - Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, etc. - shipping may be delayed until the following week.

EXTREME WEATHER NOTICE: The Next Gardener reserves the right to hold shipments during storms or periods of extreme heat or cold. This is to ensure your plant does not suffer while it is in transit.

Winter shipping

We insist on shipping succulents to our customers all year round. However due to the extreme winter weather, although we pack succulents with as much protective material as possible, plants are still at increased risk of frost on their way to colder areas. We highly recommend adding one 72-hour heat pack to your order or you can request a hold on the package until it warms up.

Fortunately, shipping is available to Alaska, Guam, and other U.S. Territories. However, due to numerous factors beyond our control, including customs checks and shipping delays, free shipping to Hawaii and Puerto Rico is not an option. And we can not provide the 14-day quality guarantee for orders going to Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The buyer will assume all risk of damage when a delivery is delayed. We appreciate your understanding.
