About Echeveria Colorata var. Brandtii

E. Colorata var. Brandtii is a stunning succulent plant with compact rosettes covered in a waxy coating, turning reddish-orange from blue-gray when happily stressed. This succulent is a member of the Crassulaceae family and is native to Mexico. E. Colorata var. Brandtii grows slender stalks that emerge from the center of the rosette and bear clusters of bell-shaped, orange-pink flowers. The flowers are held above the foliage on long stems and contrast the blue-gray leaves. The gorgeous appearance and low maintenance make it an ideal collection for gardeners.

How to care for Echeveria Colorata var. Brandtii

Sun/Location: The maintenance for E. Colorata var. Brandtii can be referred to as E. Colorata for similar growth habits. E. Colorata var. Brandtii feels happy to thrive in the partial shade sunlight for at least 4-6 hours daily in the growing seasons in spring and autumn to develop compact rosette and pinkish leaves. This cutie is prone to be over-leggy and slender without sufficient sunshine. The ideal temperature range for this succulent plant is between 65°F and 80°F, requiring a shade net in scorching summers to avoid being sunburnt and to wrap E. Colorata var. Brandtii in gardening fleece to protect their leaves from frost in winter.

Soil/Pot: E. Colorata var. Brandtii hates soggy potting soil and the planter pot with no drainage hole. The ideal soil is a mix of porous materials, such as coarse sand, perlite, and pumice, blended with a good quality cactus or succulent potting soil. These materials will improve soil aeration and drainage, preventing waterlogging and root rot. Repot when this cutie bursts out from the original planter pot for better growth. Trim the dry and dead leaves in the bottom to prevent fungal or bacterial diseases.

Watering: Water regularly in spring and autumn. Overwater would kill your plants or cause them to develop mold and rot. Water thoroughly when the bottom leaves are soft and wrinkled, or the upper layer of potting soil is bone dry, called the soak-and-dry method. The immersive watering method is also recommendable if placed in a ventilated and breathable location. Pay attention to shelter in the rainy seasons and avoid stagnant water resulting in rotten leaves.

Propagate: The most common is to propagate by dividing plants, which not only has a high survival rate but also facilitates the growth of succulents, which can be picked from the base of a healthy plant and planted into the soil separately after the wound has healed. Please note that E. Colorata var. Brandtii is a slow-growing plant and may take several months to establish roots and grow into a mature plant.

Winter shipping

We insist on shipping succulents to our customers all year round. However due to the extreme winter weather, although we pack succulents with as much protective material as possible, plants are still at increased risk of frost on their way to colder areas. We highly recommend adding one 72-hour heat pack to your order or you can request a hold on the package until it warms up.

Please note that The Next Gardener is not responsible for packages that suffer cold damage without a heat pack. We cannot control the weather. Order at your own risk.

Hawaii, Alaska, and Other US Territories

Fortunately, shipping is available to Alaska, Guam, and other U.S. Territories. However, due to numerous factors beyond our control, including customs checks and shipping delays, free shipping to Hawaii and Puerto Rico is not an option. And we can not provide the 14-day quality guarantee for orders going to Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The buyer will assume all risk of damage when a delivery is delayed. We appreciate your understanding.

Seller extremely helpful and quick respond to my questions!

Everything was packaged well and I had plenty of material to put the display together! My only suggestion to the owner is to make the hole on the label a little bit bigger because it was difficult threading the burlap tie! Other than that the quality of materials was excellent!
