Aeonium 'Bronze Medal' Variegated (4 inch)
About Aeonium 'Bronze Medal' Variegated (4 inch)
Aeonium 'Bronze Medal' Variegated sounds stunning! With its long, lance-shaped leaves featuring ciliate margins and farinaceous leaf surfaces, this succulent is truly one-of-a-kind. The combination of yellows, light greens, and pinks creates an alluring coloration, while the odd longitudinal stripes of bronze add a touch of uniqueness to each leaf. The tightly joined leaves form a flattened rosette, making this plant a gem. It's amazing how the haphazard arrangement of patterns makes each Aeonium 'Bronze Medal' Variegated a work of art.
How to care for Aeonium 'Bronze Medal' Variegated (4 inche)
Sun/Temperature: This beautiful plant thrives in full sun, making it perfect for outdoor spaces, but it can also do well in sunny windows or on balconies. However, be sure to keep an eye on it during the summer months, as too much sunlight can cause damage to the leaves. Aeoniums are known for their drought tolerance and preference for cooler temperatures, with 65-75°F being ideal. Remember to avoid extreme heat and bring them indoors if temperatures dip below 30°F in the winter.
Soil/Watering:
1. Use a succulent-specific soil or create a peat and pellet-based mixture for optimal growth.
2. Remember to water your succulent only once the soil has completely dried out.
3. Ensure proper drainage by allowing water to flow out of the bottom of the pot.
You can reduce watering frequency during winter and summer as the plant requires less water.
Pot: It is crucial to have a pot that has a drainage hole to ensure the best possible growth for your plant. As this succulent thrives, consider a larger pot for added aesthetics. Remember, if the pot is too small, it can quickly become top-heavy and fall over.
Propagation: Using the beheading technique is recommended, and I suggest using a fishing line for a quick and easy process. Using a knife or scissors may damage the leaves during the beheading process. Select the right spot on the succulent (the part you remove should have 6-8 leaves), then quickly remove it with scissors. After that, please place it in an excellent spot to cool the wound, dry it out, and then stick it in breathable soil to wait for germination. Remember to moisten the soil surface until the cut surface has sprouted. Once it has taken root, use the soak and dry watering method to water your succulent.
Fertilization: Make sure to dilute it with water and apply it once a month during the spring and fall. Your plant will love it and grow into an even more fabulous version. Avoid fertilizing during winter and summer when they're dormant.
